After having worked for 13 years in the commodity markets (training and managing projects within Matif/Euronext and as an operations manager of Sigma Terme, a subsidiary of Union InVivo), Mr. Rialland has developed a new interest for renewables and biofuels in particular. He joined the CGB (French national sugarbeet growers’association) in 2006, to work on the development of ethanol outlet. Responsible for the general management of the ethanol department (economical studies, external relations, lobbying at national and European levels), he works in close collaboration with peer organisations both in France and, more in general, in Europe. Since 2009, he is also Director General of France Miscanthus, an association that brings together the main actors of miscanthus in France and whose main aim is to promote the plant and its uses and utilisations (bioenergy, biomaterials, animal littering and bedding, mulching).
